The Rooster Coop

I don’t know how many of you readers have read the book “The White Tiger” or watched the movie adapted from the book. Those of you who have might be well aware of the concept of ‘rooster coop’ the story talks about. I gave quite a long thought to the whole idea of a ‘rooster coop’, in particular.
India is a country where class discrimination knows no bounds. The story talks about the coop in which the lower classes have been trapped. It is a deeply contemplative concept the author has penned down and which has been further adapted in the film. However, after cogitating about it, I found a new interpretation in addition to the original one.
I went a step further and dismantled the concept of class. I believe the whole world, every human is trapped in a rooster coop. We are practically a body functioning according to some rules set by higher authorities. Many of you might not accept this thought of mine, but it is because the process of obeying certain rules has been engraved in our unconscious mind. We are unaware of the things we are made to do, the right-doings and wrong-doings. Just like the lower classes are slaved to the higher classes, the citizens are slaves to the bureaucrats, the bureaucrats to politicians, and the politicians ultimately to spiritual powers. In fact, we are also trapped in the coop of our minds. It’s just how we function, how the world functions.
We desire to leave the coop, the system we are trapped in, the feelings which overpower us. However, the bars of the coop doesn't let us. Aren't we all slaves then? Is not the differentiation of classes rendered useless?
We should introspect and know where we stand in this coop. We need to stop being slaves to the discriminative and stereotypical societal views. The corrupt attitude of this closed coop we live in has powers which can destroy the world- it can create an apocalypse. Being in the coop isn’t our choice but not being a slave always is. There will be roosters who are willing to stay trapped in the coop, demotivating others who are trying to move out of there. The good thing about this coop system is that it allows one to at least try unleashing oneself from it. The results won’t be idealistic but it would surely lead one to a place where one can restrain from judgements, authorities and self-doubt. It would require integrity, confidence, focus, purity and most of all strength. One would need to be a fighter rooster. But the other side of the coop will be accessible. Some roosters will reach that side and that is what will keep the world a place to survive. It will open the bars of the coop.

Note: I completely agree with the original idea of the author regarding the ‘rooster coop’. This article is just a brief review of my thoughts about the same.

A really deep article indeed. It brings forth our attention to some of life's reality. Not everyone can accept the fact that all of us are at the end of the day just slaves to someone! It is really surprising to see such insight at such an age.
